Day to Day Poetry #8

Imagine:
A giant mechanical quill
Slowly descending towards a hunched, naked man
Trapped in a corner, fists folded unto himself,
Legs quivering beneath the gargantuan weight
Of anticipation;
As the discourse of chaos and order melts into black ink,
Powered by one mechanical quill:
Carving words into the arch of his back,
Digging narratives into his flesh –
Infecting, inserting, unearthing unto his bare body, impregnating the uterus of his brain –
The words of giants before him –
Etched forever in his being –
Co-existing.
